Beginner Yoga Courses in Tallinn

Learn Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga from experienced teachers. No prior experience needed.

Starting yoga can feel a little intimidating if you have never tried it before. Will you be flexible enough? Will everyone else know what they are doing? At Goyoga Tallinn, we hear these questions all the time, and the honest answer is: you will be fine. Our beginner-friendly classes are designed for people with zero experience, and our teachers are genuinely excited to help newcomers find their way on the mat.

What to expect in your first class

Plan to arrive about 10 minutes before the class starts. This gives you time to find the studio (Narva mnt 7D, 3rd floor - there is an elevator), change in the private changing rooms, and settle in. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. You do not need to bring a mat or any equipment. We have premium Manduka yoga mats, blocks, bolsters, and blankets ready for you.

Let the teacher know it is your first time. They will keep an eye on you, offer modifications for poses that feel too challenging, and make sure you are comfortable throughout. Nobody is watching or judging. Everyone in the room was a beginner once, and our community is genuinely supportive. If you are visiting Tallinn and want to try a single class, you can simply drop in without any membership.

Best styles for beginners

Not sure which class to choose? Here are three great options for your first time. Hatha yoga is slow and alignment-focused. The teacher breaks down each pose carefully, so you understand what your body is doing and why. It is an excellent foundation for any other style you might explore later. Slow Flow is a gentler version of Vinyasa, where movements are linked together with breath but at a pace that gives you time to find your balance.

Yin yoga is passive and restorative. You hold poses for several minutes, supported by props, which helps release deep tension and calm the nervous system. It is perfect if you are dealing with stress or simply want something quiet and meditative. We would suggest saving the more dynamic Ashtanga classes for once you have a few sessions under your belt, but if you are curious about it, our studio offers gentle options that ease you into movement gradually.

Getting started

The easiest way to begin is with our Studio Explorer Pass: 29 EUR for 3 classes, valid for 30 days. This lets you try different styles and teachers to find what clicks for you. Single drop-in classes are also welcome if you just want to test the waters with one session. We are located on Narva mnt 7D, just 5 minutes from the Old Town, and you can reach us easily by tram, bus, or on foot.

Check the schedule on our homepage, pick a class that works for your timetable, and come a little early. Card payments accepted. Our studio has roughly 100 square metres of natural oak floor space, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and classes running from early morning to evening. Whatever brought you here, whether it is stress, back pain, curiosity, or a friend's recommendation, we are glad you are considering it. The hardest part is showing up for the first time. After that, it gets easy.
