"At 72, I thought yoga was not for me. Kaia proved me wrong. The chair poses helped my balance, and now I walk more confidently. The community of fellow seniors is the best part."

- Senior yoga student, age 72

Safety and accessibility

We know that getting to a class and feeling safe once you arrive matters just as much as the practice itself. Our studio at Narva mnt 7D has elevator access to the 3rd floor and low-profile steps at the entrance, so you do not need to worry about steep stairways. Inside, chairs and props are always set up and ready - you will never have to ask or feel singled out for needing support. Every single pose has a modification, and our teachers actively offer alternatives throughout the class. Nobody is expected to do anything that does not feel right for their body.

The changing rooms have mirrors and hair dryers, and the two shower rooms include seated options. Our 60+ classes are kept small - typically under 12 people - so your teacher can give you genuine personal attention. If you also deal with back pain or stiffness from sitting, these classes address that directly through gentle spinal work and hip opening.

Health benefits backed by research

Study after study confirms what our students experience firsthand. Regular gentle yoga practice improves balance and significantly reduces the risk of falls, which is one of the leading causes of injury for older adults. Joint mobility increases with consistent, careful movement - not by pushing hard, but by showing up regularly. Many of our senior students report sleeping better within the first few weeks, and several have shared that their doctors noticed lower blood pressure at checkups.

Beyond the physical, there is something equally important: connection. Loneliness and isolation affect health as much as smoking or inactivity, and our 60+ community is a genuine social circle. People arrive early for tea, stay after class to chat, and look forward to seeing each other each week. If you are also interested in meditation and breathing for stress relief, those techniques are woven into every session. Ready to try? You can drop in to any 60+ class without a membership.
